The standard high pressure hose from my donor car (G-body) will not fit in my current application so I need to have a hose custom made. Where can I get this done? The local parts houses are of no use for this.

Look up Hydraulic Equipment in your local directory. One of the companies listed should be able to assemble custom lines or know who can.

I had mine done by a shop who specialize in steering & front end solutions for cars & trucks. Cost me around $ 60.00 for ( 2 ) hoses including fittings.

I had mine made at a local napa part store. If you have the metel ends from your donor cars they can make a hydrolic line with compression fittings to fit the metal line ends that you cut off.I have a picture of the hoses from my power steering to my hydrolic brake booster at the bottom of my webshots page. Hope this helps. web page

Go to your local parts house and see if a hose from the same era truck will somehow fit. My 48 has a pump from a Monte Carlo but the hoses and box from a 3/4 ton truck,

See if there is a Parker hydralic hose distributor in your area. They will either be able to make you a hose or direct you to a shop that can make it.

There's a shop in Fort worth that makes them if you can't find one locally. Kim's Hose and Fittings, 817 332 8953.

Where did you guys mount the PS pumps and how do you have your belts set up, if you are using an inline six?

I've got an alternator and a/c compressor on the manifold side of my engine and with the timing cover can't figure out where to put a PS pump!

54 Just had this done for my 49 sub at a place called "Tubes and Hoses of Wisconsin". I think this is a national chain. Try the yellow pages for "Tubes and Hoses". They can make up anything you need. Mine was an odd setup using a boneyard mid 70s pump and a unit from an 84 GMC 1/2 ton. Can the Astros get past the Cardinals? Weeds

Thanks for the responses. It seems there are a couple of local shops that can make up what I want if they have the correct fittings. The pricing though is higher than I thought it would be. The lowest is $25 for a High pressure line and the highest was $65. Compare this to $13 for a stock replacement hose. Oh well - everything else on this truck has been custom so why not this. Weeds - good to know you are still with us. Yes the Astros will be in the 100th Worlds Series once they get one more game from the cardinals tonight. GO ASTROS!
