For my 46 Panel truck, on the items originally left bare cast, like the transmission, steering box, etc., mine looks sort of neat now with it's light rust, since I got the hard dried grease off with Easy Off Oven Cleaner. What light rust treatment, then finish do you recommend on the cast, if any, to really look like bare new cast iron? Has anyone just "satin clear coated" the cast, so it does not look fake?

Eastwood Co. sells a paint called "spray Gray" that duplicates the original bare cast look.

Napa Aso has a Cat iron paint on there shelves that looks really good and is pretty tough .
Ihave had good luck with it .

I use the eastwood manifold paint (brush type) and I think it looks pretty good. Easy to apply and color is good.

ditto on the napa used some stuff awhile back i think it was called new cast looked really good. so good i think i'm gonna do my new motor that color......dave
