Working on making replacement panels for the 47-55 chevy rear fenders that are not offered and dont fit. Right now am doing the front section where the running board bolts too. I will be doing the whole lower section.

Am wondering if anyone in the kansas city area would allow me to borrow their rear fenders to check fit the panels before I release them. All I need to do is check my templetes against the metal. No cutting or welding would be needed.

rear Pickup or Panel truck fenders? Just my opinion but the 47-54 AD trucks are weakest at the rear on panel,carryall and CE truck sheetmetal, patch panels and rearfenders for rear doors. There is just no good choices out there.

wheelwright restorations can fix ya up Joe, he could easily stretch the ones he already makes

Am looking for rear fenders for the trucks.
I would make patch panels for the burbs etc but I dont have any burbs or parts so I cant make patterns. Without the burb parts I cant make patterns to go from.

The pieces that I would make would be for the front where the running board bolts. Common rust area and stress area. I bought two patch panels from two different vendors and they both fit like crap, not even remotly close.
The patch that I have made completely replaces that lower section with the proper radius in the corners and bends. The current piece is not a complete panel and not even close to the proper radius.

For the back portion of the fender I would make the part where the brace bolts too, right at the end of the wheel well opening. Many of these fenders Ive seen are split or missing entire sections of that lower rear area.

I am also doing the inner flange piece, where the fender bolts to the box. This would be the piece that has all the bolt holes in it when look at the fender. I will do the inner piece on both front and rear fenders.

Am just looking for a test fender to double check my patterns and templates agaisnt because my fenders where pretty damaged. Althou I repair the section before patterns were taken it would be nice to double check...Eric

Just because you think you can make a panel don't go bad mouthing others. We have sold many of the rear fender panel and I have installed many. They fit very well and are very reasonable price wise for hand made parts.
I wouldn't get to deep into it any way soon they will have them from China dirt cheep

Looking through your link you can see how the radius of the bend is wrong. Sorry but they are not a 90 degree bend its got about a 1" radius roll

Readers will visit the Metal shop, my link and judge for them self's.
