These pictures are when the truck was pulled out of the barn, then cleaned up a little and placed in the shop.

Nice to drag it out of the barn and let it see daylight once again! | | | | Joined: Mar 2016 Posts: 170 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2016 Posts: 170 | s682.photobucket.com/user/brakfamily48/library/Truck
Fixed the link for you. Get a couple more posts under your belt, and the forum will let you hyperlink stuff yourself. It's a good thing you saved the truck, it looks like the barn was ready to swallow it up! That looks like a nice, solid truck to start with.

There used to be someone on this site who collected pictures of that. Not sure if he's still around. Haven't heard from him lately. | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 401 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 401 | Yea, that's pretty cool. Please tell me you're leaving the door art intact. I love seeing that kind of thing on the old trucks. | | | | Joined: Jul 2016 Posts: 2 Moderated | Moderated Joined: Jul 2016 Posts: 2 | You are in very good hands here. I bought a 48 6400 last fall and I can say that finding parts for a 48 2 ton can be a challenge, but it is made easy here. Grigg and MikeB have done a lot of the leg work already.
1948 Chevrolet 6400 "Grasshopper" Original patina I owe both tons of thanks to MikeB, Grigg, and numerous others from Stovebolt. THANKS for all the help! Everyone here has saved me a lot of time searching for parts for the ol' 2 ton

The truck story is in the DITY gallery, but the short story is the truck and door art is from my great-granduncle and his son's farm. So yes, I am keeping the door art. And when/if repainted the door art is going back on. | | | | Joined: Sep 2014 Posts: 30 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2014 Posts: 30 | Nice looking truck.
