Hello everybody! Thought it was time to add a new addition to the 1938 Truck gallery!
Anyhow, we have a Big Bolt, manufactured in Kansas City, Missouri, still has the tags! This is a dual wheel, 157 inch wheel base truck. We have been looking for one throughout the last year for a farm truck but nothing crazy intense, more for a "classic" farm vehicle look that's taken well care of but still is worked.
We ran across the ad after several pages of searches on a lesser known website. It was a museum located in Rapid City, South Dakota that was selling it after buying it from a sale.
We talked on the phone for a few days getting information and figuring out how we'll pay for it and move it off the lot. Turns out I was able to drive with our pickup and trailer, to move the truck plus get it to a shop that will help me in getting started!
Fun thing was seeing people's thumbs up as they passed and I had one truck driver comment on how awesome it was to see it and really liked the looks of it when I stopped at a truck stop for air.
So the plans for the truck is to first get it in running order. Taking the stuck 216 and putting a 261 Chevrolet engine with the four speed transmission that came with the motor with a PTO on it!
Our plan is to use it on the farm and once completely road worthy, take produce for delivery or farmer's markets!
We are so excited and will definitely keep updating as they come and post pictures once we start. We really like the old classics and intend to use them and take care of them!

UPDATE! The shop we have the truck at in Minnesota just now had the 216 taken out, put the 261 in with water pump modifications and a few of the lines as well. He had it driving around and everything looks great! Just waiting now though till we get moved there to see what we can afford after the move which the shop is being very gracious to us in all this.
Wanted to share with you what just got accomplished! Have an awesome day everyone!
Piecing together the Big Bolt and the 3/4-ton, plus family, kids, a move ... what a lot going on! Now both trucks are in the Gallery.

Well Rich, we have been wanting to since March! We are still in Nevada just about to close on our farm. The 1 1/2 ton is in Litchfield, MN and the 3/4 ton will stay here in Nevada until the pickup is completed from it's restoration. We're hoping to buy a home near Maple Lake, MN. Praying and hoping we get there in the next month! We'll be updating as things progress and will definitely make ourselves known that we are in Minnesota once there! Thank you for asking!

UPDATE!!!!! I have new tires on the old wheels now. I am currently working on the brakes, electrical, and we'll be having a running, road worthy daily driver!!!
Also, we are moving to Peoria, Illinois area here in December! Lots of commotion going on however slow and steady on getting this old truck done for my daily driver! Hopefully have pictures soon of the truck with the new tires on it!
Picking up steam in the soon to be daily driver! I picked up a bag of ferrules to repair the seat springs, the original fuel tank has came back from Renu Tanks of Shakopee, MN and they did an awesome job! I am in the middle of replacing all the wheel cylinders, master, lines and I have new set of brake shoes for the rear axle! Little by little knocking things off the to do list!
