on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 96 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 96 | Hi Guys! I just purchased my first stovebolt and actually haven't even recieved it yet. I've been doing a ton a research lately and can't wait to get started on the restoration.
What i know about the truck is this:
Its a 1954 GMC 5 window With a four speed transmission, two speed axle and the 270 motor. Here is a link to some pictures. http://www.hotrodgarage.net/54gmc1766.html
The owner of the truck didn't list the model and my head is spinning trying to figure it out with out the VIN. Hopefully someone on here can help identify which model I have.
...Or i could wait until I have the VIN, but i'm impatient :)
Looking forward to learing much more about these trucks!

It looks like it is probably a 2-ton. The dust caps on the front wheel bearings look like they bolt on, and I believe they did not do that on anything lighter than a 2-ton. That looks like it is in pretty good shape! | | | | | Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 96 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2016 Posts: 96 | Thanks! I'll be sure to put some pictures up here and in my thread in the bigbolts section once i get the truck home.
Also, how long do i have to be a member until all of my post don't have to be approved anymore?
