Hi Guys! I just purchased my first stovebolt and actually haven't even recieved it yet. I've been doing a ton a research lately and can't wait to get started on the restoration.

What i know about the truck is this:

Its a 1954 GMC 5 window With a four speed transmission, two speed axle and the 270 motor.
Here is a link to some pictures. http://www.hotrodgarage.net/54gmc1766.html

The owner of the truck didn't list the model and my head is spinning trying to figure it out with out the VIN. Hopefully someone on here can help identify which model I have.

...Or i could wait until I have the VIN, but i'm impatient :)

Looking forward to learing much more about these trucks!

Hi Adam, welcome. Try posting in the 'big bolts'. I'm sure you'll get good help there. Good luck.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Welcome to the site! It looks like it is probably a 2-ton. The dust caps on the front wheel bearings look like they bolt on, and I believe they did not do that on anything lighter than a 2-ton.
That looks like it is in pretty good shape!

AdamK1500,

I think after 5 approved posts, you become "approved"
