I have a 1940 1.5 Ton that my grandfather bought brand new. It only has 21,000 original miles on it. I learned to drive on this truck and it is one of my prized possessions. If you have any questions just let me know. Jim Carter in the links section can get carbs c.heck the links section on this site likely a Rochester carb. originally. My 38 had a carter W1 but the 54 has a Rochester. Bolter carbking may be able to answer your question check the engine forum. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | The 1948 engines had Carter W1s.
