New to the forum here, though I've been lurking for a couple of weeks. Bought a '52 3100 a couple of weeks ago. All stock 216- 3speed- 6volt, etc. Last owner had it 50 years or so. Trailered it out of his side yard and to my surprise I got it running in short order with 15 lbs of pressure and great compression. Needs all the usual deferred maintainance corrections and there's not a panel on it that doesn't need a little love from the Hobart.
Just came off of a 3 year flog with a fiddly 57 year old German roadster and the Chevy is a real joy! Back to my roots! Yippee!
Look forward to learning and adding where I can. Thanks for the great forum!

There's a little green left on this one, the last owner's Grandson got really busy with a drill and a sanding disc a long time ago and the color now is closer to mottled rust. As far as the powder blue goes, if I wanted that color interior I'd have kept my '65 shortbed. Yep, loser blue, no power nothing, 6cyl-4speed and a steering wheel as big as a $50.00 pizza! I loved that truck, wife hated it. Perfect world! Kept her out of my pickup! Back on topic, the blue will be stripped and painted in 7272 Rustoleum. (I do loves me that search feature!) My local True Value keeps it in stock. Bonus! Got to finish sorting out all the reliability issues first of course. Once it makes a few trips to town (and back, on a good day) I can focus on pretty.

Here goes-- 52 52a 52b 52c 52d Hope these worked OK. It's great to be able to "shadetree" one. Getting back to my roots! These show the truck after the new door glasses, wheels cleaned up, cut out the 1/8" plate floor from the bed, power washed the snot out of it, etc.. it didn't look near this spiffy when I trailered it home! I grew up in those 3 starred cars...I think my dad had a dozen of them in his lifetime...I would love to have one of his old ones...for now I am doing the old truck stuff like you...definitely a different breed of cat from a 3 star car to stovebolt truck...welcome back....love the finish of your truck...

The '52 is a rough old dog. Can't get too close with your Sunday britches on, it'll chew up your pant legs! Coming along mechanically, though- I might run it around the mile section next Sunday and see if it will make it home with all it's parts! Pretty will come later.

Side note- Can't avoid the blue oval. I work across the street at the used car lot. I know, I know-- A used car salesman! Horror! Don't tell anyone that you know one that works and can use tools. They'll think that you are a no-good liar!
