brighter filliment in the outer lamp will also light making all four lamps light. The dimer filliment in the outer sealed beam is your low beam.

The low beam bulbs do have two filaments – the low beam (full power) filament and a low power filament which switches on when the high beam circuit is selected. The low beam filament goes out, and a lower power filament is activated. With the high beam lamps illuminated, the low beam bulbs become marker lamps. Both lights are on full high beam when the high beams are turned on. The outers have low beams.
Relays are a good idea especialy on the high beam side. The Halegen bulbs draw more current then the older bulbs.
