Any tips on gluing the new rubber and those rivets. I got the little tool and new rivets from Classic Chevy, they don't come with directions and I'm a little confused. Is there some trick to the rubber. My glue job looked terrible, I may need to take it off and start over. Any hints would be appreciated. It's a 58 GMC 1/2 short bed. Thanks Larry

Larry, I must have been sent the wrong rivets when I did mine a couple years ago. I could NEVER set one of the rivets, even with the tool that I bought with the rivets. After screwing up a couple pieces of vertical wing vents pieces I glued it on using the 3M stuff. I glued it on, used a clamp and strip of wood to hold it in place overnight. Have not had a problem on my 52 chevy panel. Your 58 GMC may be different than mine.

I had to take the vent assy apart to get the rubber to go into the corners, what a mistake. That tool was a joke, it started to deform after a couple uses. Lucky for me I have 4 more vent assys to work with. This is the last thing I have to do to get windows in my truck. I've taken it for a couple short drives and can't wait to get it home. The 48 mile drive to work on it is killing me.

If you remember the pic you saw a coule years ago it looks a lot different now. I painted it Maroon and put a small flat bed on the back with 2 stainless steal tool boxes on it. It looks great and I know there's not another one around my area like it.Larry
