If you ever decide to go ahead with the suicide knob, I'm in! I'll even sign a waiver releasing you from any and all liability since this item was purchased "for decorative purposes only" .......get it?

For anyone thinking about this... and think the price is high, or your waiting to pull the trigger, or for whatever reason haven't bought one yet... DONT WAIT!!! These things are absolutely BEAUTIFUL... probably the best looking part of my truck (not kidding). Pick one up while you can!

Are these knobs made from plastic or wood? I thought Mike had
posted that the deco insert was machined from brass, is that
correct? And are they being made on a CNC milling center? And
no Mike, I taint looking to compete, just the curiosity gene in
me wondering what they're made of.

Denny, I got the first one and it's some sort of plastic material on the outside with brass on the inside. This is all in the I think category, not 100% on any of it. Dave

Wow, folks! Stovebolters are the best! Thanks for all the nice comments about the knobs. I feel really proud that so many of you are running my knobs in your trucks. I make each one by hand with care and I'm very aware of the fact that each knob is going into somebody's pride and joy.

Peggy - I would certainly consider coming up with an additional design. Let me give it some thought and get the creative juices going.

Denny - The knobs are made from a urethane plastic. It's tough and polishes up real nice. The threaded insert is solid brass, as is the shifter adapter. The design medallion is also solid brass.

Thanks again!

I got one.....remember the reunion in 2012 smile

I haven't used mine yet. I have it over my work bench and look it at when I'm working. I have a special place it's going one day.

Thanks Mike, I been playing around with urethane from Smooth-On
to make knobs for some of the radios that I'm restoring. Do you
have access to a CNC to make the medallion's? The reason I'm so
inquisitive is I can see it carrying over into my radio
restoration. The plastic for bezels, knobs, push buttons and
escutcheons. The brass for trim pieces, bezels, escutcheons.
Been looking into using some of the high durometer
flexible urethane to cast as dies to press brass parts also.

Hey Alvin, don't wait to long, life's movin' kind of fast at our
age you know. If your bench's are anything like mine, it's
orful easy to loose something in the pile. Lately I've found it
faster to just go buy another screwdriver rather than try to
find my old ones.

They should be available through the Hoo-Ya-Shop tag at the top of the page. I got mine about a year ago and it's great!
