I was surprised it weighs as much as it does. it's 3575 lbs. I had guessed around 2500. I suppose there is a lot of weight in old metal. Mine is a '51 3100 and the gross weight is 4800 lb. If it is a 1/2 ton do I subtract 1,000 the 4800 to get a vehicle weight of 3,800 lbs? | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,596 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,596 | I took a load of trash to the dump and they weighed my truck in and out. You would think they would weight less but most of these old trucks are somewhere over 3000 lbs. The body is a lot heavier than we think. | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 4,886 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 4,886 | My '37 weighs 3100 lbs road ready, 3575 is still not very much considering new trucks are almost twice that.

....I take mine to a nearby truck stop that has scales. I think I paid 5 bucks the last time to get a slip with my weight on it. I need to get the panel weighed this week so I'll see what it cost now! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 289 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 289 | This is timely because I have question regarding the weight of my truck and trying to figure what I need as tow vehicle.
