Well, I'm not exactly sure how the unit is tested either, aside from hooking an Impact wrench to the pulley and testing that way, i'm clueless. I am sure the voltage regulator is at fault as well, however i want to make sure the alternator isn't shot first. I would like to test the unit asap. anyone have any ideas, why does this alternator have 3 main wires coming off the top of the unit? and the truck is negative ground. anyone know how to adjust a leece neville volt. regulator? or have a good link to instructions. my fear is the volt regulator was fried from someone jumping the truck with 12 volts, and then the volt regulator fried the alternator too.
