Shine a bright light on the subject to see screw threads. On 55.2 a bolt comes in from firewall side to pull the hinge bracket up tight to firewall/body.
I do not think that bright light from the firewall side side (either side - in the cab or in the engine compartment sides of the firewall) will help to see the subject on a 55-1st truck?
