The reason I was curious to start with I had a broken hinge , after removing it I noticed a bolt in that hole we are talking about.... Now after more investigation and removing a bucket of bondo from the cowl I'm sure the door was open and was backed into something very hard . I think the reason for the bolt & nut was a bad attempt to adjust the door to close which didn't work , he had cut a hole in the kick panel to put the nut on ....now I almost have the cowl installed....
