My 1954 Suburban has captive nuts inside the back of each hinge pocket.
My 1954 3104 has holes but no captive nuts (and no sign that captive nuts are missing).
My 1954/55 GMC COE has a captive nut in the bottom hinge pocket (it has no pocket for the upper hinge).
Go figure?
