The Ford part does fix this problem. I had a 1983 Camaro that had the same problem as Gazim is having. I put a heat sheild on the starter solenoid, but it did not help. Finally, I used a Ford starter solenoid, and it completely cured the problem. At first, I too had my doubts because it did not make sense, but as 64fleetside describes, it does cure the problem.
