I also use the "hot start kit" like gtow69 writes of,,although I make them up myself(too cheap to buy a kit). Its easy to do, make a solid bar from starter pos terminal to the "s" terminal, connect the pos term to a large cable to one side of Ford relay. the purple wire formerly going to the "s" terminal them goes to the Ford solenoid small connection, connect the batt pos cable to the other side of the relay. this works well, the old wiring only energizes the Ford relay(a few amps) instead of the starter solenoid which requires up to 30 amps. works well with haeders that tend to heat up the starter.
