I know the purpose of a DA plug, however in the last 10 years I have installed maybe 5 GM 10s alternators on generator equipped engines . I just hooked one wire to the ignition and one to the battery. If the engine ran after the ignition was cut, I simply reversed the wires, yup just reversed em .On a tractor conversion, I used an indicator light in series on the wire fed from the ignition switch as in a stock set up . All of the alternators have the resistor across two terminals of the internal regulator originally.3 of these conversions belong to me. Never a problem in the last 5 years ,even after sitting a few months in winter storage. Please explain why this works for me and no one else.
