.......lots of the old trucks I've dealt with can be "cranky" at times. One of the things that seems to work for me goes something like this.....Unless the engine is "cold" I always let the engine crank over a few times WITHOUT giving it any gas. I let the engine tell me what it needs. Many times it fires right off but if it has pretty much cooled down then I still let it crank over a few times THEN give it a little gas which they usually fire right after I did.......I just took longer to say the same thing Christopher said in two lines!!!
