OOOOO, PIVOT rivets.. .now THAT is a different subject.
Here is my take on it. Even with the tool trying to "set" those rivets were much much worst than the ones on the vertical strip.
Here is what I decided to do.....
I bought two of the pivot rivets and after destroying one of those I took the other to a local machine shop guy. I had him to make me a piece just like the rivet BUT with a short threaded end on it. He did it with stailess and I used the nut with the teflon in it as its sort of "coned" a little. I used these on my truck and I'm glad I did. The vents swivel just like the rivets but not the head ache.
I have a couple pics on my photobucket but I do need to cut the thread end off just a tat.
I had the guy make me 10 or 12 of them and he charged me $20 bucks. Money well spent in my opinon. I think I've gave them all away but my two spares
