on my '65 c10, that pivot point for the vent window where the rivet goes is outside the truck, so this is what I did:
I went to the hardware store and bought a small bolt the same size as the hole for the rivet and topped it off with an acorn nut.
It is a six sided nut with a round top on it(bolt does not go through - only into), looks a lot like an acorn, hence the name.
So acorn nut on top, with a lock washer and the bolt in from the underside. I used a counter sunk short bolt with a phillips head on it. All parts were stainless and they don't stand out at all.
You could also use regular bolts and paint 'em to match.
Unless you are going full on original, no one will ever notice and you will be able to take it apart easier in the future. I actually think it looks better.
