Pete, sorry you had a bad experence. As you know I have always had high praises for R&R. Now I feel guilty!
I have thought about the bed being 1 1/2" above the bolt holes in the fender and I just have to ask if the bed blocks are the right height? None the less, you should NOT have problems your having especially with the angle we discussed. I wish I had better advice.... now I'm reluctant to recommend them. It doesn't take away the pain but know we have all been there at one time or another.
