Is your 1-ton a manual or automatic?
Mine is a manual. I have not driven it much with the 51 cab but I drove it alot as a 78. We used to haul livestock from the local sale barns around Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky and the only trouble we ever had was we lost third gear a couple of times. Keep in mind we were pulling a 36 foot stock trailer and who knows how many times the odometer had rolled over. There was usually a run every night during the week for atleast 10 or 12 years.
