Well guys,I have a little update.
Today I picked up the new Hyatt bearing from Bates Sales Co. which have their HQ in St.Louis. The bearing is stamped Hyatt with the original numbers but came in a pretty dark blue generic box along with another number (SO712895)which is on both boxes even though whats inside is different.
I asked the rep. where these come from and his reply was,"we have our sources".
He added that a lot of times a old stock is bought up by some outfit and reboxed for sale again.
It would seem as though there is some technicality in play here to justify the expense of reboxing these.....or maybe the original boxes got so old looking no one would believe there's a new brg. inside
It only boils down to the fact that the brg. can be bought but who has them past the retail level remains a mystery plus not every retail place can deal with a Hyatt number.
