You may have to choose between finding a running engine or a total rebuild. I think the 292 option is a good one, but there is most likely an engine in your area that is just like yours and running. A direct swap is probably the cheapest way to go if the replacement is a good one. If you find one do a compression check on the candidate before you commit to it.
