I guess the hubs on my 49 nare different from later ones. The drums are held onto the hub face by 2 flat-head screws (until the wheels are on, of course) And the seal fits inside the hub, inboard of the bearing and it rides against a thin, dish-shaped piece of sheet-metal that is a snug fit on the spindle, inboard of the inner bearing.
I see no reason why this hub couldn't carry a rotor instead of the drum. And if roller bearings can be made to fit the hub and spindle, the seal should still work.

Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice)
\'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run.
My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787.

Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.
