Like I said before, that link is just the fast idle link, when you close the choke the cam just holds the throttle from closing all the way to idle. As far as reversing the accelerator spring, no you can't change that.
If your veering from a stock set up I'm afraid I can't be of any help, I'm not a design engineer.
