Good idea HRD!
My '63 EH Holden Roadster had no visible stereo unit when I first got it.
The CD Player was hidden under the speaker grille in the dash and the speakers were boxed marine units hidden under the seats!
The speaker grill had a couple of threaded posts with speedy nuts securing it to the dash.
The speedy nuts were removed so that it could be lifted at any time for access to the head unit then lowered to hide the whole set-up.
I ended up fitting speakers to the kick panels etc, as an open top vehicle soon drowned out the poor little marine speakers un-der the seats!
It does spin people out at car shows though, they see the speakers but can't find the head unit.They all say....in the glovebox, under the seat, in the boot etc.
No-one thinks of lifting the speaker grille on the dash!
