I have seen the stereo mounted in a hollowed out heater that looked nice. I needed my old round original heater for my truck. Instead I mounted my radio in my glove box and still had room for keeping things in it. Instead of using the old cardboard box I just made a metal one.
i was going to try to find a really old CB radio... they are large enough to gut for a head unit and just place the face on with a hinge... and who wants to steal a super old cb?
