| | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,971 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,971 | It seems there have been some service buletins on this connector. Might want to check on it. The sending unit with the wires is around $230. I believe the wires and prongs on the unit are the weak link.
I just ran into a problem with mine on a '94 chevy pump. The sending unit/pump has 3 wires going in and 4 prongs on the inside. On mine the ground prong to the pump (black wire) had no continuity at the prong. The black with white stripe wire was still good. Inside the plastic gromet that goes through the top plate was screwy somehow. I took a wire connector and tied the black and the black white wires together. They both come from the same ground wire coming in (a shared ground). It also straightened out the fuel guage at the same time.
The fuel pump was about $60 and it came with a new connector (2 prong) on the fuel pump side.
