sorry for the delay. I only get on the computer once a day. Yes the connector is on top of the pump\sending unit at the tank. We took the connector apart and check the pin terminals and cleaned them and replaced them in the plug. the mounted connector has 4 pins and they are fine, not bent or dirty. I am assuming the connection is now good, but you know what happens when we assume!
I cannot figure out what is causing the heat in the connector and wire. It must be resistance, but from what?
