Been some time since I looked at this post sorry about ur problem.
Let me ask you this. Is it possible that you never had a fuel pump problem but instead a carb problem. If your carb float needle was clogged or your carb float somehow got stuck wouldn't that explain these symptoms? No gas getting to the intake. Just a thought.Good luk.
