What Jim was saying was that Howard's is no longer making these cams. Another company is grinding them to Howard's specs, and the quality might not be as good. But the one in my friend's 261 was a Howard cam, and it was not straight.
If you have access to a lathe or fixture, I would pull the cam and check it with a dial indicator. I would also be on the horn to Patrick.
