I guess my philosophy has always been, "it's better to over-do-it than to have to do-it-over."
I agree all that fancy wood is quite expensive and I suppose if I were just using my truck for hauling etc. I would look for something less expensive. The T-111 siding would probably hold up longer. How about Hardy Planks?
