I was looking at something totally off-topic on a different forum today (Jeep) and came across a thread about air compressors that apparently had the same issue: a 12MM x 1.5 pitch thread instead of NPT. I also found a thread relevant to an oil pressure gauge with again the same problem. All items have one thing in common apparently: foreign manufacture.
