As you most likely know, 3800 is the designation for a one ton truck. However, it is possible that the hood and/or side-badges got replaced over the years.
Is your shift lever on the steering column?
If there is a ID plate on the driver's door-hinge post, post the number/code here.
If you can find the engine serial number, also post that here - it is pressed into the block in the ledge just to the rear of where the distributor goes into the block.
In 1953, many of the exterior paint colors changed. The standard color was Juniper Green (a dark green) and a lighter green, Ocean Green, was an option (
1953 truck colors ).

I see from another post that you have a floor shifter and a newer engine. A floor shifter 3-speed was not an option in 1953; however, a 3-speed floor shifter was available several years earlier and 3-speed floor shifter mechanisms were available as an after-market conversion (some people converted because a worn or mis-adjusted column shifter would stick in gear).
The valve cover on the engine is from a 58-62 (I think) 235 passenger car engine. However, that valve cover fits any 59-62 235/261 engine. The engine serial/sequence number would help in IDing the year/type of engine. If it is a 59-62 car engine, it most likely has hydraulic lifters.
