OldSub has stated very good information regarding your "problems". Everyone has a slow-learning curve when they get their first old truck. The good news is that the more you learn, the more you know that you do not know. :confused:
Most of what you have posted so far have been questions not unique to the 1-ton truck. Maybe this is bad - maybe you will really have problems when you get around to 1-ton issues? :rolleyes:
