This poor quality control is not a new thing, I acquired a '50's model set of Fentons and a Nicson 2 carb manifold for my GMC. They took a lot of "fitting" to make them work. I guess because I came from the generation that was used to making our own "hot rod" parts so didn't think too much about it, but come to think it over even in the "good old days" it was a problem too.
