I'd be intrested to know how often this happens.. I know it's had to have happened far more that once.
Usually when it happens the seller cooks up some story about the item being damaged, or lost.. but thats hard to do with a great big truck, especially when you're planning on selling it AGAIN.
So i'm curious how many times, especially in automobiles, that the seller has refused to honor the winning bid, been sued, and the buyer actually ended up with the vehicle.
They make a big stink about your bid being a legal, binding contract.. that by placing your bid (or listing the item for sale) you agree to blah blah blah.. but I wonder how many times this has actually been tested in a court of law (other than Judge Judy or Wapner)?
