I haven't been on here in a while, but I could not resist this one. You know what it's like when you drive ( or get towed in this case) that old truck home, you start trying to figure out what all those strange noises are? While steering home a '51 GMC 1 1/2 ton last year, I heard a strange buzzing sound coming from under the seat that was a bit erratic. I ignored it for about a mile until the brain kicked in and reminded me of the sound I heard when I picked up rock at my property and discovered the hiding place of one of our local Idaho western rattlesnakes. It was fortunate for me that the rubber around the back window was old, because I went through that little hole head first and into the grain bed. The window was cracked in the middle which must have given fairly easily. I really don't remember going through, but my bloodied forehead attested to my panic. The worst part was sitting helpless in the bed as the truck drifted into the burrow pit and fence dragging my friend and his truck sideways with it. I suppose I should ask someone else next time. Oh, there is now a 30-30 slug hole in the floor where the snake ended his ride.
