I`m proud to say but not without cussing a great deal , that I rebuilt/cleaned an old DIST and swapped it out with another old one w/o losing timing. I guess the gear down there is a helix type and will rotate clockwise once the DIST is removed. Screwdriver and turning the gear back . Took a few times to get it to drop in where I had it marked. Usually one tooth off either way. The old one wobbled a bit. Engine purrs. Got all the power I need. 2nd oil change soon. I`ll use Valvoline racing oil. 10w30. Getting cool enough to use the heater and that thing throws out some warm air. Using the stock heater just for defrost. It was 45 this morning. Tighten the gear in the steering box. Really nice. Like new feeling. Put on a magna flow muffler. New doughnut. What a feeling driving this thing sold to me as yard art around town.
