Almost the same conversation when I have a new mechanic and he's unsure or scared about hydraulic work. First I'll ask if they know basic electrical and have confidence in the subject. Then I let them know hydraulics is the same principle, it's all about flow. How it changes direction or creates an action is pretty darn close, too. Just different kinds of "switches." And like a 12v system, the fluid starts at the tank and ends at the tank.
