Thank you for the picture. I drew a similar one when I was trying to visualize the flow of current to the plugs and the points. Once I get home I will take a Pic and post it so it can be scrutinized for errors or mis conceptions.

So how does the condenser prevent the arcing. Does it absorb the excess voltage? If so what happens to the excess. And by current do you mean amps?

When I asked my original question, I didn't expect the amount of detailed information I would get. Which increased my curiosity.
