The only reason I'm so paranoid about this is that I once accidentally activated the stomper while lying on the floor of my truck, working under the dash. The transmission was in reverse. The engine actually started (6 volt starter running on a 12 volt battery, HEI ignition and a good working Carter YF). It seemed a lot longer than a second or two before I could roll off the stomper. Luckily, I was in the driveway with lots of room.
