52 Carl Turbo Cummins doesn't worry about that heat,guess you could insulate and make it go out the tail pipe. Friend had a chevy that in interstate pull check engine light would come on,they tried everything,he had it traded,another mechanic took the air supply duct off put it in the bed,said try it now ! Check engine light never came on again !!
I used to drive a Dodge stake body truck with a turbo Cummins in it. That was an amazing setup.
The big difference between that setup and adding a turbo to a Stovebolt engine in front of an AD cab is apples to oranges.
My fear is that here are too many leaks in the cab where pedals come through. Extra insulation will help, but I fear that it will do little to stop the air leaks in the cab. A lot of heat comes in through those leaks with a stock engine in place.
