I believe the Kaiser Manhattan used a similar setup on their 1954 model- - - -a flathead six Continental engine with either a Paxton or a McCullouch supercharger and a pressure box around the carburetor. One of the customers at Dad's shop in Nashville back in the late 1950's drove one of those cars.
