If you choose to turbo the 292, be sure to add some piston cooling. The turbo Toyota Supra has oil nozzles that spray lube oil to the underside of the pistons, and a big oil cooler onboard. Ditto for a lot of big Diesel engines in tractor-trailer rigs. A Volvo engine I inspected on a warranty claim had piston cooling nozzles, and the top of Detroit Diesel connecting rods used on turbo engines had a spray nozzle built in to direct lube oil to the bottom of the piston crown. Those rods were gun drilled to provide pressurized lubrication to the wrist pins. I worked on dozens of them back in the late 1990's when I ran the rod reconditioning department at a big machine shop In Nashville.
