I haven't go things cleaned up yet but I did stick a drill in the holes in the head and they appear not to be angled. I hope they line up with the holes in the new 261 gasket that's still in the package. I will take some photos when I get it presentable. Probably be a week or so. At this time I'm thinking I may re-ring it since it's out of the frame and I'm going to pull the pan anyway. It has a PCV system and the intake ports and plugs are oily and the oil had to come from somewhere. Maybe it's blowing oil into the PCV, in which case I'd bet on at least stuck rings. Easy to do now, hard to do later. So far, I haven't found std. rings for a 261, or a 235 for that matter but I haven't checked for a few days. Maybe they're back in stock.
